Fly like a bird - Exhibition Opening at the Museum of the Moving Image

Ever dreamed of flying like a bird? Here’s your chance!. Birdly, the multi-sensory flight simulator, developed by Max Rheiner of Zurich University of the Arts (ZHDK), has thrilled audiences from Bangalore to San Francisco, from South by Southwest to the Sundance Festival. Now, with the support of swissnex Boston and Presence Switzerland, Birdly has finally made its way to the U.S. East Coast. As part of the exhibition “Sensory Stories” at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, NY, Birdly gives visitors a taste of what it’s like to fly like a bird between New York City’s stunning skyscrapers.

The VIP opening, hosted by the Future of Storytelling at the Museum of the Moving Image on April 15th, was a huge success.  Birdly was operating non-stop, bringing smiles and delight  tothe many visitors who came through to check it out.

Have a look at the pictures above – and make sure to swing by at the Museum of the Moving Image one of the upcoming weekends to try it for yourself. Birdly will be ready to take off Fridays 4:00 - 8:00PM, and Saturdays and Sundays, 11:30 AM – 7:00 PM, until May 17th.
