Sensory Stories - the Exhibition
Conceived and organized by the Future of Storytelling, Sensory Stories is a new exhibit of interactive projects that reinvent storytelling with innovative design enabled by digital techniques. The show includes premieres of new work, including the immersive flight simulator Birdly, an interactive film from Google Creative Lab, and the first oBook, a platform that expands literature into the dimension of scent.; The exhibit also features projects from Vincent Morisett, Chris Milk, the National Film Board of Canada, the Daniels, and more. The exhibition opens on April 18, 2015 at Museum of the Moving Image, and will be on view through July 26, 2015.
Sensory Stories features more than a dozen projects, selected by the curatorial team at the Future of StoryTelling, that invite visitors to immerse themselves in stories that engage all their senses—going beyond sight and hearing to include touch, feeling, and even smell. The exhibit includes virtual reality experiences, interactive films, participatory art installations, and new haptic interfaces that showcase the future of entertainment, where stories engage us in multisensoral, immersive, participatory, and personal ways.
